MAURICIO CHAVES
BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Bogotá Colombia, of indigenous Mhuisqa descent.
He studied plastic arts at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá and began studying shamanism from direct experience with spiritual leaders from various nations in Colombia, his homeland, and later in other parts of the world.
Today a practitioner of shamanism with and without power plants, such as ayahuasca, coca leaf, tobacco, cannabis, and other ancestral medicines that with rigorous study can be seen as a benefit to human life, student of Thetahealing , of the Toltecayotl, aikido and other disciplines that complement their knowledge and help the artistic pieces to be deep and complete a message to the viewer that helps expand their consciousness.
In his paintings and sculptures he uses symbols such as sacred geometry, power animals, legendary characters, each piece of art tells a story and also generates new stories with its use, it is not uncommon for people who buy a painting to experience new energy experiences or change some aspects of his life, some pieces are purchased for ritual use, at medicine altars around the world, or purchased by healers and therapists who use them in their practices and offices for protection, channeling or aesthetics.
His artistic purpose is that by sharing ancestral stories, people can access new levels of consciousness and a collective memory, the memory of Mother Earth.
